Too much time on hands…
Maybe…
I am amazed that people recognized that gorgeous Hawaiian beach. I just googled Hawaiian beach and that’s what came up. I’m sure my lens will make it here from the US eventually, but it seems to be having a nice tour of Australia before it makes it here.
Late last night it was in Ascot Vale, Melbourne – at least it was in the same state as me. It was not far from the Melbourne Zoo, where I used to work…
And I think it caught up with some old work colleagues of mine…
This afternoon it was in Sydney. 900 kms from here. Riding a ferry. Apparently.
Seriously. It was in Sydney. Total other state.
Tonight it’s heading back to Melbourne and hopefully on to me Monday.
And hopefully not relying on public transport.

It’s a mystery…
Yes, it’s a mystery folks. I’ve ordered a new lens, checked on it’s progress and my new lens is in Hawaii. Honolulu to be exact. Here’s what I think it’s doing:
It looks relaxed, doesn’t it? Hope it doesn’t get wet. Or sandy. Or sunburnt.
And speaking of mysteries, I know grab bags are all the rage. Rather than putting one up in the SBB store, I’ve decided to make my freebies into grab bags for a while. There’s so many things in my freebie folder, just waiting to be let loose that I’ll put up a mystery bag each week for you to download, starting today!
There could be anything in there, and if you leave a comment here to let me know you’ve downloaded it, I’ll choose one comment at random on Friday night to get a $5 voucher to my store. You can grab the first Mystery Bag here.

Holiday snaps…
My parents have returned from their winter holiday. Every year we look at the photos and marvel at how many pictures one man can take of bullbars. He must have hundreds in his collection. Although I haven’t seen all this years photos, we have a new contender… the bike.
Dad bought a fold up bike off Ebay. As you do. It folds up to practically nothing, so he popped it in the ute and took it away with them. 690. That’s how many kilometres he did on it. And 10 is the number of photos of it I’ve found so far.
And my mum, who went with him, appears as a blur in the corner of one photo, being stalked by a pelican. There’s a man with priorities.

Stuff, stuff and more stuff…
I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of August. This year is flying past even quicker that the last.
Spring has arrived here. You can feel the change in the air. Last night we all went for a walk after dinner. The days are drawing out and I haven’t worn a jumper for 2 days. Madness I tell you. 😉
Yesterday I ordered my family some National Trust Time Capsule “Message to the Future” cards. This is an awesome idea – you can write on the postcard to whoever you like and they’ll all be buried in an esky (of course) and opened in 2032. I’m going to give them to my parents, my brother, Mr L and we’ll do one for the boys too. You can read some that have been done by other people here – I love the one in the bottom right.
I spent the weekend putting together a 20 page album to be printed by Snapfish – yes, I got the BHG deal from last month so it’s only costing $4.95. Love that! It’s all our favourite photos from our trips to Tasmania and I can’t wait to get it back.
And something cool – Sue Jones, talented Australian designer and all round good sort – check out her templates. What an awesome idea! Makes me wish I was better at remembering to take birthday photos.
Finally, make sure you stop by my SBB Store this week. Something BIG is going on…
Have a great week!

Baa…
We had a little adventure yesterday. We went for a drive to… a Sheep and Woolcraft show. I know, it doesn’t sound interesting but it was great. Mr A got to go in a pen with chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, cows, goats and sheep AND feed them. Mr L learnt how to weave on a loom – which he loved, surprisingly. Mr G and I looked at all the woolly goodness and it’s made me want to learn to spin even more. Like I need another thing on my plate, right?
On the way home we stopped at my favourite park and let the kiddos loose. Lots of good family fun.
The weather here today is wonderful – spring is nearly here.
And I’ve just received a big pile of brochures from the nice people at the South Australia Tourism office – I’m off to dream
