Safe…. sorta…

IMG_4413 The direct threat to our property has passed for the time being, so we can relax a little. We are home, the boys are asleep in their own beds, and I’m about to fall into mine. There is a lot of ash and burnt leaves around, but that is nothing.

My brother has come up to help out. He and mum got through the road blocks and back home just on dark tonight. My mum was understandably very emotional when she rang, but she kept repeating – “We’re so lucky, I don’t know how we’ve got to be so lucky.” Dad is exhausted but safe, so my brother will take over for a bit and give him a break.

They have 30 acres of bush still on fire. Mum could see trees on fire, but as most of their pastures have burnt out now, it’s mainly keeping flying embers off the house/sheds.

The weather is looking good for a few days, so all your good vibes must be working. Thank you so much. I know it has lifted my spirits to know people are thinking of us.

Catch ya…

I hope it continues to cool off for you down there, and that both your properties are safe.

Keeping you all in my thoughts xxx
