It’s the end of the world as we know it…

According to Mr L at least. Mr A would never worry that the world was about to end, as long as he had a snack or two on board.

Mr L’s worried because the Large Flux Capacitor is being switched on this week and it could create a black hole and suck us all in. Sorry, it’s not a Flux Capacitor – it’s the Large Hadron Collider. My mistake.

I’ve been mum to this kid long enough that when he comes up to me and says “Mum, can you please google Large Hadron Collider and find out when it’s turned on?” I just type it in and hope for the best.

I’ve never had a normal 8 year old, so I’m not really sure what they are supposed to be concerned with, if anything, but I’m pretty sure the creation of black holes shouldn’t be high up there.

Of course we have done our best to reassure him that it won’t happen, that it will be switched on and we won’t even know about it. We hope.

(Secretly Mr G and I think his brother is a black hole – what toddler eats breakfast, 2 bananas, 2 apples, lunch, biscuits, tuna mornay and then picks the peas off my plate before I can eat them? Black hole right there, I say.)

Catch ya…
