Leaving on a jet plane…

Today has been … I’m not sure what today has been. Busy. Excited. Sad. Emotional.

We’re all packed and ready to leave first thing in the morning. We’re both very excited and looking forward to seeing and doing so much in the few short days we have in Tassie. The boys are at Mapa’s (my parents) and settled in. Mr L is not a problem – he stays there a lot – but Mr A has only had one night away from us. He went to bed and straight to sleep without a problem. Good little man. Our house is very quiet and I miss them already.

We had some bad news today. We lost a friend in a tragic accident. You know when you hear a news report, and you think, wow, I hope it’s not her? And then they say something, not her name, but something and you just know? When we moved up here 7 years ago, we had already bought our house. The owners daughter was living in a flat on the property and kept an eye on the place for 12 months until we moved up, and then lived there for the three years until we sold it. She was wonderful – the best tennant and friend we could have asked for. She still visited us, long after we’d all moved away. She got married last year, bought a house. She was only 35. It’s too young.

On a brighter note, I found this little fellow on our wall when I got home today.

Hug your family, OK?

Catch ya…
