Sophie and Everyday Things…
As I sit here at the computer, the wind is rocking the house and the rain in pelting the windows. We’ve gone from glorious Autumn to the depths of winter in a heartbeat. It honestly doesn’t seem that long ago when the temperature was soaring and the fires were on the doorstep – and now we’ve got the wood fire on to stay warm. The irony of it.
I’ve just put the finishing touches on my latest kit, Everyday Things. I’m crazy about the grey and yellow colour scheme at the moment.
And introducing the newest member of the family – Sophie…

She has fit into the family like she’s always been here. When I first met her at the vets, she climbed onto my shoulder and began to purr. Of all the things she could have done, that was the one thing that would make her mine – Scooter did the same thing, all those years ago. Soph is currently sprawled on my husbands lap, purring like a chain saw.

Chairs and my new little friends…
The hubby is still home for another week, and I think, on the whole, it’s doing me good.
We had a lovely morning out this week – a coffee and a spot of op shopping – which resulted in the purchase of a lounge suite. As you do. Well, as we do, anyway.
Mr G is going to strip back the wood and refinish it, like he did with an old cabinet of my parents. The plan is for the kids to trash the velour red covers (which I hate to admit are growing on me) and then, when the kids are beyond the trashing stage (Mr A , I’m looking at you) I’ll recover them. 2 chairs and a couch. Not bad.
And then there are these little possums, who are hanging off the back of the chairs and causing mischief.

Meet Alex and Emma – new friends for Mr A and Miss E.
Made from a wonderful pattern by Jodie Carelton. I’ve already ordered more material to make two more and have a bag of fabric to make heaps of clothes for them. So nice to sew again after so long.
Today is digi day. I’ve got a colour scheme I can’t get out of my head, and today is the day to do something about it.

Some late love…
The fabulous Priscilla Halliday has made the cutest, funkiest little album for you. It’s gorgeous, great for either gender and, even though Valentines are on the mind this weekend, would be great to give to a special someone any time you wanted to show you care.

It was made using the following bits and pieces from my SBB store:
- Karen Hunt’s Funky Doodle Frames
- Karen Hunt’s Basic Necessities Kraft Paper
- Karen Hunt’s Basic Necessities Typo Stamps
- Karen Hunt’s Basic Necessities Stencil Stamps
- Karen Hunt’s Have a Happy Heart
- Karen Hunt’s Negative Qualities
- Karen Hunt’s Just for Fun kit
And you can grab the whole album here. Why not pop over to Pri’s blog and say thanks – and check out her gorgeous sewing – she’s a talented gal!

Normal…
Life goes on and we all move forward. Things are relatively back to normal here. Mr L started school this week. Look how he’s grown…
We found this scruffy, exhausted, filthy bloke the other night. Dad. Safe and sound. So much for keeping my cool – he pulled up and I burst into tears of relief.
I want to do a post about the fires – what happened and our feelings about it. Not necessarily for everyone to read, but to get what happened down on paper. The fires are currently contained, but I can hear the helicopters going over every day and we still have a road block at the end of our street. I don’t think I’ve actually seen a fire truck today, which is the first time for a week. It has had a big impact on our community, and more specifically, on our family.
But, as I said, life goes on and there’s a kit waiting for me to finish it. You can get a sneak peek by checking out my blog’s new clothes…

Boomshakalaka…
There are storms rolling around the hills at the moment. And rain. Glorious rain. It’s so nice to be home and safe while nature puts on a show for us outside.
I know the digi world is about to explode with Black Friday sales. It sounds like the equivalent of the Boxing Day sales here in Australia. SBB has a great deal going – spend $10 in certain designers stores and get this amazing collab kit free! It is sooo yummy and full of delicious papers and well worth it.
And all you have to do is buy something amazing from these girls:
- Amy Cheeseman
- Diamante Designs
- Dawn Wilson
- Joyful Heart Designs
- Karen Hunt
- Kari Hentzelt
- Kathryn Balint
- Krista Ringham
- Lindsay Jane
- Peta Boardman
- Raechel Knight
- Sarah VanDyke
- Shelleyrae Cusbert
- Serena Thomas
I’m off to breathe in the fresh rain scent.

Insert squeal here…
If you’re into scrapbooking, quilting, sewing or beading (or just like free online magazines), have a look here. You can sign up to one of these magazines for 6 months online viewing – for free! Pretty cool, huh?
And they’re Australian too… even better…

Storyboard Starters…
Oh boy, am I excited about these! It’s a little Photoshop action – press play and it creates a 12×12 page, makes room for the photos and pops them in for you. It even asks you for a background paper – it’s like it knows you want to add one.
In fact, it’s so easy I’ll just do one now.

I timed it – just under 6 minutes. That included dithering about what font to use and talking to my husband. This was us at lunch today – matching pics on the mobile. When they match, it’s a snap!
Anyway, Storyboard Starters Set 1 is up in my store now. I hope it makes scrapping that little bit easier for you.
