Guess…
Who’s getting their first tooth??
At the ripe old age of ten months and 2 days, no less! We’re all very excited. It’s only a tiny little pearl at the moment, but it’s finally there.

Aguments via Megasketcher…
I’ve lost my voice. Mr A and I have got some yucky sore throat, and my voice has gone.
Mr G thought that it would be a good morning, however, to go out for a ride. Mr A didn’t sleep, Mr L was being a pain, and Mr G arrived back half an hour late, just as I’d got the boys in the car to go out looking for him. So, he copped it – via some expressive hand movements and some frantic scribbling on Mr L’s Megasketcher. In hindsight, it must have looked comical, but at the time I was a bit cross, and when you don’t have a voice…

In other news, Mr A is still loving his “brooom”. It’s very exciting to be able to walk around. His balance has improved so much in the past two weeks. He’ll be off in no time.
Mr L is still playing with the Christmas loot. We took him to see “Night at the Museum” yesterday – good kids movie! He enjoyed it, and liked it just being mum, dad and him for a change. He wants to read the book of it now, so we’re on a mission to track it down.
I have done nothing designing wise at all for nearly two weeks now. Kinda nice to have a break. Got lots of ideas, as always. Just need to get going!
Better go and save Mr G from being dribbled on by Mr A (who did NOT get two front teeth for Christmas).

Christmas wrap…
Well, it’s done for another year. Santa has been and gone. The boys are exhausted. Their parents are exhausted. Everyone is happy.
Santa snuck in and left a nice little pile of pressies for the boys. Mr L got a radar gun, books, a fishing rod – Mr A got a walker, which he is very pleased to inform anyone is a “broooom-brooom”. This was the first year we didn’t go anywhere, and it was lovely to stay at home and not have to spend half of Christmas day in the car.
Lunch was sausage and salad. We could have done with a big winter feast though – it was freezing here! Barely got above 12 degrees all day and parts of the state that had intense heat and bushfires a week ago had snow! Yes, it’s Summer in Australia…
I’m off to stay warm, play Uno Attack and be run over by Mr A and his “brooom”. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was kind to you!

Schools out…
and Mr L is home until the end of January. He’s already reminded me that school starts 15 minutes earlier next year. Honestly, that kid can’t live in the now – he’s always planning ahead. So school holidays stretch out before us. Got nothing planned. Just hanging around the house and staying cool.
Preparations are underway for a visit from Santa next week. Much anticipation from Mr L, who sent Santa a long list. Mr A, of course, doesn’t get the whole Santa thing. He’d be very happy with some wrapping paper. And to be allowed to eat it.
If you’ve got small kiddo’s around, or just like to know where Santa is, you can track Santa’s progress via the Internet as he heads to your house. Air Services Australia is tracking him this year, and we’re watching each day to see what he’s up to (check out the satellite pics of his workshop!). If you’re in the northern hemisphere, NORAD does an excellent job of tracking Santa. It’s very exciting to watch!
Also very exciting – it might rain today!

Something to say…
My kids have something to say. Talkers, both of them. Mr L, with his usual style, would only talk if he could be incredibly articulate. His first sentence was at 8 1/2 months. He turned to me and said “Where Dad go?” and I was so shocked, I answered him. There was only “mum-mums” and “dad-dads” before and after that, for a long while. Of course now we can’t stop him.
Mr A is heading down the same path. At 7 months old, he was lying in bed of a morning calling out “mum-mum, dad-dad”. At nearly 10 months, we’re trying to teach him to wave hello, but all we’re getting is him saying “hello”, no actual waving yet. He’s picked up the clapping quickly, although he did just say “clap” each time for a bit.
And the last two nights, we’ve been given the hurry-on by him. After dinner he has a bath. Mr A loves his bathtime. So how to let your parents know that it’s bathtime? Crawl up to the bathroom, sit in the middle of the room and chant “bath-bath-bath” until they get the idea. Well, it’s more like “barf-barf-barf”, but he knows what he’s doing.
This kiddo is a talker like his brother. And he’s gonna dive in feet first to talking. Here’s Mr A again, scrapped, albeit simply, with Brenda Kampf’s gorgeous Hip Holiday kit (the papers are so gorgeous) and a quote by Mindy Terasawa.
Last day of school for the year tomorrow. Then it’s 5 weeks at home with the talkers. Not sure whether I’m excited about it or not yet.

More from the House of Illness…
I awoke at 4am to the non-too-soothing tones of Mr G hurling. Mysterious illness chalks up another victim. My Mum’s got it too. I just hope Mr A doesn’t get it.
Speaking of the little devil, he’s back and he’s got a new trick. Pulling himself up on anything and everything. Apparently, he must stand up. All.the.time. He forgets he can’t walk, and takes off after things, only to be met with a short sharp reminder of gravity’s existence. It’s hours of fun.
This is Mr A attempting to climb on the couch. Can’t remember whether this was before or after he tried to eat the dead fly. He still has no teeth. Don’t need teeth to eat flies. Apparently.
I also learnt today that Mr L is not sulking, he’s pretending to sulk. There’s a fine line. I asked him if he was feeling ok the other day, and he said, “S (his mate) makes this noise that goes ‘eeeeeeeaeeeeeh’.” There’s a pause and I wait to see the relevance. “I can’t do that,” he said. Right-eo. I should also add, S can burp the entire alphabet. I feel like I should mention it, as I’m told about it often.
And on that note, I shall leave. I can hear the monotonous chant of “mum-mum-mum”. I think that’s me.

Grinch time…
I think someone has stolen Christmas this year. Usually our street is decked out to the nines in Christmas lights, but this year – nothing. In fact, half the town is usually decked out. This year – nothing. Every year we go with my parents to a nearby town for dinner and drive through the Christmas lights. This year, there were hardly any lights. Christmas card tally – 2. Christmas trees up – 1 very small paper one (but to be fair, we are home to Destructo Baby, and he eats Christmas trees for breakfast). Decorations – 0. Presents under small tree – 4. It’s all a bit sad really. And yet, we don’t seem too concerned. Odd.
I finally finished my Hot Christmas kit – this one’s especially for those of us who don’t have snow at Christmas!

Not much else to tell. Taking a little break from designing for a week or two. Mr G is home on holidays for the better part of two weeks, Mr L finishes his first year of school this week (where did that go??) and Mr A is pulling himself up on EVERYTHING and still doing real baby crawling (yay!). Fingers crossed for a quiet week leading up to Christmas.
