And so it begins…

Mr L is off at his first disco. Here he is, with an obscene amount of gel in his hair and a smile I could only get by using the word ‘fart’ in a sentence. He’s ready, but we’re not. He gave us a demonstration of his dancing “skills” and I think he won’t be beating off the ladies for a while yet.

And Mr A – still not a tooth in sight. Last night there was much screaming and carrying on, which is very distressing to hear in a child who doesn’t usually cry much (unless it’s food related). He had a full tummy, clean nappy and panadol, and still not happy. And still no teeth, despite the red cheeks and boiling hot gums. Tonight there was a bit of a fuss, but seeing as he had practically no sleep today, he was pretty tired.

Mr G has come home with prospective dates for a weekend away for us next year. I am so insanely excited about this, because it will just be the two of us and we’re going to Tasmania, which is just about our most favourite place on earth. I can’t wait. It’s like coming home. I would absolutely love to stay in Battery Point, so I’m doing a little on-line searching to see what I can find. Somewhere colonial would be nice. When we last went over, three years ago, the best places we stayed at were the old ones. We stayed at a farm house built in 1838 – so much of the family’s history was left in that house and entrusted to the guests. It was such a privilege to stay there. We also stayed in another house that was more modern (1900’s) but was just like staying at grandma’s house. Such a lovely atmosphere, sitting at the big kitchen table. I love Tasmania.
